  8. OVERVIEW
  9.  
  10.   K-Chess for Windows is a simple, informative and enjoyable Chess
  11.   program.
  12.   
  13.   K-Chess actually lets you see what it is doing, and so helps you to
  14.   learn to play better.  The computer will help you in several ways,
  15.   such as showing where a piece can move, what pieces are threatening
  16.   a particular square, and even play your move for you.  Best lines
  17.   of attack are displayed for both players for several moves ahead.
  18.   Multi level undo and redo is also available so that moves may be
  19.   reviewed and/or replayed at any time, right back to the start of
  20.   the game.

  22.   The game can be played between two players, one player and the
  23.   computer, or the computer against itself in Auto Play mode.  There
  24.   is full keyboard and mouse control, and help.  Games may be saved
  25.   to disk and reloaded at any time.

  27.   The game is customisable, allowing various restrictions on playing
  28.   time by game or by move, and tailoring of different hinting levels.

  31. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

  33.   K-Chess for Windows runs on any Personal Computer running Windows
  34.   3.0 or higher.

  37. INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
  38.  
  39.   K-Chess for Windows must be installed onto a hard disk or floppy
  40.   disk with at least 450KB free space.
  41.  
  42.   1. Put the Installation Disk in drive A: or B:.
  43.  
  44.   2. Go to a DOS command line.
  45.  
  46.   3. Enter "x:INSTALL" where "x" is A or B indicating the drive with
  47.      the Installation Disk.
  48.  
  49.   4. Press "I" to begin installation.  When requested, enter the drive
  50.      and/or directory to install the program to, or just press <Enter>
  51.      to accept the default.

  53.   5. Go into Windows and either double click on the KCHESSW.EXE file
  54.      in File Manager, or add an icon for K-Chess into a group in
  55.      Program Starter.
